BISON
A buffalo crosses the road in the National Bison Range in Montana . The refuge encompases 18,766 acres in the Mission Valley of Northwest Montana and is home to approximately 300 bison. A federal proposal to return management of the lands to The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes of the Flathead Reservation is triggering opposition from many including a group called the Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility, who plan to sue and block any transfer of control.
