The last couple years I’ve been asked to photograph The Event at Rebecca Farm for the group that presents this world-class equestrian competition. It is normally at the height of summer and I feel lucky to spend the day in such a stunning location photographing horses and their riders. It’s beautiful every time. This year was no different. Having Montana as a backdrop for the photos is just icing on the cake.
The one thing that consistently amazes me about the competition is just how scary some of the jumps are. Just watching riders make them catches my heart in my throat. It’s terrifying! But they just leap and go — and they land them. It’s really amazing to watch.
Here are a few of my favorites from this past summer.
Jessica, This is my favorite post of yours yet! I love the long lens action and the soft foreground elements. Beautiful edit. Beautiful subjects. And yes, all I ever wanted was a horse. Maybe one day when we move to Montana and live off that lake we fantasize about we’ll get one.
Way to work it! -xoxo
Thank you Jessica. I really appreciate that. You are always in my corner and it means a lot.
